The anointing

Myrrh is the spice of meekness
Meekness must be essential for service
It’s the raging river of submission
Forty long years in the wilderness
Calling on God until all rebellion
Stubbornness and self will is gone

Cinnamon is the spice of righteousness
Righteousness stays course for what’s right
Truth must prevail despite the cost
Standing on His promises by faith
By His stripes we are healed
He only has the last word

Calum is the spice of humility
Humility where there is no weakness
A grateful heart enhances this spice
Complete and total surrender is needed
We must be willing to lose
To be under the Lord’s will

Cassia is the spice of inner cleansing
Cleansing from all negative worldly influences
Staying pure before our holy God
Focussing our attention on Him alone
So that our lives reflect Him
Amidst a sick and suffocating humanity

We need the Holy Spirit’s anointing
Anointing is what draws lost souls
His power demonstrates His awesome compassion
One commodity is sorely missing though
Oh why are the laborers so few?
Oh why are the laborers so few?

Oh why? Oh why?
